We’re looking for a full time Assistant Manager for our shop in Portobello, Edinburgh. The successful applicant will be responsible for day-to-day shopkeeping and assist with the smooth running of a small but busy retail space and thriving online shop.

Requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Sales experience in a licensed premises
- A love for amazing drinks but in particular BEER
- Great taste in music
Front of house responsibilities
- Customer-facing sales: Support, advice and product recommendations
- Shopkeeping: Safe and smooth running of a busy shop
- Merchandising: Arranging displays, signage, promotions and managing overall retail presentation
Back-office responsibilities
- Engage with customers enquiries over the phone and by email.
- Engage with suppliers over the phone, by email and in person
- Stock management & invoicing
- Maintaining product information
- Managing, picking, packing and shipping online orders
Skills
- Excellent customer service: You're polite and helpful and can perform under pressure
- Computer skills: You're proficient with simple systems and able to learn new ones
- Good communication: You can converse effectively with customers, suppliers and management, on the phone and over email or social media
- Good organisational skills
Desirable skills
- Driving Licence
- Personal Licence holder
- WSET Level 2+
- Instagram, Twitter, Facebook etc
- You can write decent tasting notes
- Art ninja
Package
- Circa £19,000 P.A. dependent on experience
